Why Do I Need a Background Check?

To provide the safest environment for our honored guests during Night to Shine, Parker Hill Church and The Tim Tebow Foundation require background checks be completed for everyone involved in the event. This page provides instructions for completing the background checks required for a volunteer role in Night to Shine.

For Buddies

Buddies are volunteers who accompany a guest throughout the event. All Buddies must complete and pass a series of three background checks. Click below to download the instructions.

Volunteers serve in many different roles from set-up to tear-down, food service, entertainment, etc. As a Volunteer, you must complete a PA State Police Criminal History check. Click below to download the instructions

Background Check FAQs

Depending on your role in Night to Shine, you will need to complete different background checks. Answers to the most frequently asked questions are below.

 

I volunteered at Night to Shine last year, do I need new background checks?

No. Your clearances from last year are valid for three years from their issue date. We have your information on file and will reach out to you directly if we need anything else.

I'm a Family Ministries volunteer at Parker Hill, do I need separate background checks for Night to Shine?

No. Provided your clearances are still current on February 10, 2017, you will be able to serve as a volunteer or buddy without renewing your clearances.

If we find that your clearances are due to expire before the night of the event, we will reach out to you directly with instructions for how to renew them.

Will my background checks through another organization be valid for Night to Shine?

If you completed the necessary background checks with another organization located in Pennsylvania they will be valid for your involvement in Night to Shine, provided they are no more than three years old as of February 10, 2017.

I completed a background check in another state, is it valid for Night to Shine?

No—background checks for involvement with Night to Shine at Parker Hill Church must be issued in Pennsylvania. You will need to complete the process detailed in the instructions on this page.
